Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services (Airtel B&TS) has launched
a fixed line plan -- Freedom 550 plan. Freedom 550 plan comes with a
'free broadband' Internet connection at a speed of upto 512 kbps with a
free download limit of 550 MB per month. In addition, the customer will
receive free call value of Rs 550 per month. The plan also offers
customers the benefit of online service with e-bills, e-payment options
and online customer care support.
Introducing the plan, Atul
Bindal, president, Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services, said, "We
believe the broadband market in India is ready to take off and we will
lead this growth story. Our focus is on increasing broadband uptake
with our world-class service, content rich broadband offerings and
strategic alliances."
He further added, "With the Freedom 550
Plan, we have become the first ever telecom operator in the country to
offer 'free broadband' access. With this, and our other initiatives for
customers, we are seeking to accelerate the penetration of broadband
services in the country."
